Gave me a completely nonsensical decision which just would have required checking with another court in the building as to whether there was a conflict. Maybe the clerk writes his decisions, but this was a poor one.

I have been in front of this judge in both trials and as the trial assignment judge. As a veteran, I can state that his is very fair and reasonable. He is the type that will bend to be overly fair, but never to the point of harming any party. While some may dislike his flexibility, that is what makes him very effective as a bench officer

Paul J. Baisley, Jr. is an ethical and hard working JSC that is always is willing to work with counsel appearing before him. I have tried four cases in front of him and I have appeared before him on calendar pre-trial settlement conferences and he is consistently professional and hard working. On one case when there was a sidebar on an evidentiary matter, he had already done his own research on the issue and he was spot on on the issue. If they need a JSC to teach judicial temperament, they need look no further than the Calendar Control Part I of NYS Supreme Court, Suffolk County.

This Judge should not be on the bench. he does not follow the law, beware hopefully karma will bite him one day. He will ruin your life financially and divide families without caring.

Judge Basiley is a perfect example how unfair the legal system can be. He dis not follow the law in any sense during a divorce trail. He is a horrible judge he can and will do whatever he wants in the court room even if it means breaking the law. I'm disgusted that he is even allowed to be on the bench.

Truly one of the nicest, and most intelligent jurists I have come across. Handles settlement discussions with great skill and fairness. A true credit to the bench.

All that you can say is that this judge is an example of what a judge should be. He is always on time, he conferences cases evenhandedly, he understands the law, the way Suffolk jurors think, and he is exceedingly respectful and fair to attorneys. I as well as my entire firm give Judge Baisley the highest possible rating

He is a nice guy, who is fairly flexible when it comes to trying your case. But he's a blatantly defense-friendly judge when it comes to settlement discussions and rulings during jury selection.

Judge Baisley is the consummate justice, perfectly suited to the role. He understand how trial law works. He will not hurt either side if he can avoid it, but will be firm when it is warranted. I wish every judge had the temperament and understanding of the law and how it should be practiced as Judge Baisley does.

Extremely fair. Willing to listen to both sides. May be too lenient in so far as adjournments are concerned (without cause) but very accommodating and fair.

I had the pleasure of trying two cases in front of him before he took over in the Calendar Control Part I. He anticipates evidentiary issues in advance and has his own case law research but is willing to entertain the argument of counsel. If they had a school to teach trial justices, he should be one of the instructors.

Excellent judge. Very courtesous and respectfuly towards attorneys. Takes the time to discuss the details of the case (and review the case before you meet with him so you are not wasting your time). Tried a case in front of him and it was a pleasure.

Excellent judge. I have had numerous pretrial motions before him and he rules on the law [I've won and lost but he was fair and wrote intelligent opinions]. Had one trial and lost but he was fair and did not play favorites.
