The previous comments are not correct. On 5/19, the court was affirmed in one case and in a second case he was afirmmed and reversed in part. The cases appeared to have involved complex issues.

Comments:
doesn't look like a personal hit to me, previous comment gives a rating of 9/10 with no explanation. seems suspicious. By the way, this judge just got unanimously reversed by the app div. http://www.courts.state.ny.us/REPORTER/3dseries/2009/2009_03927.htm
Not an uncommon occurrance.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY1012
Rating:1.9
Comments:
Clueless when it comes to basic legal concepts. His demeanor was acceptable, but wholly unskilled in being an effective judge. Surely there is some other line of work this person could find.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY767
Rating:1.9
Comments:
Not fit for commercial cases involving any complex issues; waits outrageously long to issue decisions. Totally inconsiderate and insensitive to anything but his own needs and schedule.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: NY615
Rating:2.1
Comments:
Justice Roman has no business trying anything other than the most simple of cases. He is arrogant and demanding and the most inconsiderate judge I have ever appeared before when it comes to scheduling. Before my trial began he thought he was funny describing the many different reasons that would be unacceptable to get an adjournment or be late and then he proceeded to be late every single day of my two-week trial -- including not showing up at all one day. Completely unsophisticated and barely seemed able to keep himself awake to listen to the testimony.
