This woman ruined my life, she ruined my daughter’s life. She gave split custody to an Abuser. She went against the GAL recommendations completely & did what she wanted. A year long divorce, went to trial and sat in the courtroom and still never spoke or seen the woman the entire year. All deals made in her chamber between her and two corrupt money hungry attorneys. Soul-less. Anyone could see the injustice. All she had to do was look at any facts of the case, she didn’t care. She cost me a year of my life, 15k, a year of alimony after 20 years. He made 4 times the $ that I did. Gave him rights to claim child on his taxes every-other year& gave him 50/50 split custody. She showed exactly how sad n evil this world is. The people in higher positions that are meant to protect you & should care about the kids life’s and injustice DO NOT CARE. That man could have stabbed me in front of her and she would have probably snickered and gave him 10 days probation. She had more than enough proof that this man was an abuser & should not have so much say over this innocent child. I continue to suffer at his hands n constant punishment from him bc of her lack of conscience. My daughter will be affected for the rest of her life by her sorry, careless decisions & there is NOTHING that you can do. Who do you complain about a judge to? You can’t even request a different judge. You are stuck forever with this same judge. ????? So you stay stuck from fear while the abuser continues to hurt n sabotage you at any chance they can bc who can afford to spend another 14k knowing that the person making the decisions is the person who could care less about any facts the first time. I do not understand how she is still a judge. I do not understand whatsoever. I have heard so many things in person whispered regarding the things that she has done that are so similar to what she’s done to us. Does not deserve to have any say so over anyone’s lifes or future. Shame on Barbara Hatfield.

I must say I have never encountered such injustice than I have witnessed in this judges courtroom. She does not follow the law and completely can be bought and paid. The decisions I’ve witnessed by this judge will have your jaw on the floor. She serves out injustice so if you’re the bad guy or girl then she is your friend. But if you want justice then steer clear of this unethical judge.

[Redacted by Ed]after being present presented with evidence irrefutable evidence.. there is no justice when you are assigned Judge Barbara Hatfield and this of the family court system. My only hopes is someday. There is a creator and a higher power that will provide justice to all the lives that she has ruined at the very least at least at some point in time her eyes are open and she stops continuing to do it, because the only thing she does is leave a trail of destruction of families, and somehow convinces herself that she’s a good person . It’s a shame what damage someone can do with no remorse or change or even consideration, that may there’s a reason why so many people good people continue to say the same things about the same person in the same judge. You cannot find every judge in the courthouse. You only find specific judges, and that’s because it’s a problem they are a problem. They are wrong, and that should be proven enough that you can’t look up the other judges and find them on the site you can only find Judge Barbara Hatfield out of Canadian county and there’s a reason for that . I pray that justice will prevail and this judges eyes either be opened and she stop continuing to ruin peoples lives, or that should be removed from the bench that she’s so deserves. The families deserve the children’s lives that she ruins more than deserve justice . The family court system is a despicable operation and they should be ashamed.

Worst judge ever!! I've wasted so much money on attorneys. She refuses to look at evidence. My attorney sent out subpoenas for specific information related to the case, she wouldn't even look at it. My ex is a drug addict and she won't acknowledge that he has a problem. He's never been there at all for my 2 children. He's their biological father but has never been there. We have so much evidence against him and she refuses to look at it. She is the most biased judge and rewards the abuser and penalizes the victim. Who wants to join in on a law suit against her??? SHE does not need to be a judge!!

Worst judge ever! She does not care or listen to evidence. I honestly do not think she even knows the law, much less how to apply it. I have spent a total of 14K for attorneys to date. She does not listen to evidence at all and just rules based on her thoughts and feelings rather than the law. She clearly violated my sons civil rights (14th Amendment) and has now had to overturn her initial ruling. The same information was provided in the initial hearing but she did not listen or care, nor does she now. Someone's right to due process does not matter.
We will be filing a civil suit against the attorney, the judge and the Plaintiff as soon as the case wraps up in 3-weeks. She has a level of protection within the judicial system but not for clear cut civil rights violations. She cares nothing about due process. Unfortunately, I think the only repercussions for her are just the embarrassment of being drug thorough the system highlighting her incompetence. Hopefully she will learn from this and it will help other people. This is not the first time I have witnessed her making terrible decisions. She should really be removed as a judge as she is clearly not qualified to sit on the bench.

TERRIBLE JUDGE! My husband has spent over $45,000 in attorney fees because this judge refuses to take action. She will threaten jail and fines for violating court orders, then does nothing when the orders are repeatedly violated. DHS has been involved and found her to be a threat of harm to the children, allowed them to be sexually abused and covered it up by threating the children, and the judge told my husband to "work it out" with his ex? There is NOTHING to work out with that psycho! This judge needs to do her job and hear the evidence and make decisions in the best interest of the children. You cannot coparent when one party totally refuses to comply with court orders.

I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of concern and bias demonstrated by this judge. My divorce is recently completed after more than a year of judge Hatfield allowing my now ex-husband to use every excuse available to not present on required court days, provide discovery, etc. My 12.5 year old daughter did not want shared parenting due to her verbally abusive father. He verbally abused the kids and I for years. I provided my intake at the WYCA, three separate counselors, texts, and my own child, who the judge would not talk to, as evidence. I was not even seeking child support. She would not meet with my daughter, wanted a separate lawyer to talk to her at a cost of 1750.00. My daughter was terrified. We ended up with shared parenting, most of the time my daughter will not go with him as he is verbally abusive and scary for her. He does not pay child support or cover her insurance. She clearly is biased towards men, she needs additional education and training about dealing with families with Domestic Abuse and Violence. It is my fault I married him but when I was trying to get away, the law did not support my actions. She sets women back years in time.

I don't even know where to begin. I have spent the better part of 9 years with her as our judge. We have had 3 GAL's none of which she listened to at all. My ex has been physically and emotionally abusive for years to our children and she just keeps giving him back visitation. He is an alcoholic that DHS recommended he be assessed and follow certain plans and she would not even order him to do it or followup or allow me to present that he wasn't. I have been forced to represent myself for several years to avoid bankruptcy and she forced me to pay for a GAL and Parenting Coordinator despite my telling her I could not afford it which is against State Statute. SHE DOES NOT CARE. She would repeat the same phrase over and over about knowing the path our kids were walking because she has lived it. Proving she is bitter over her own childhood and forces a 50/50 shared everything REGARDLESS of evidence or fact that supports otherwise and despite the fact that is has NEVER worked. She refuses to hold my ex accountable for any of his behavior and says I know he messed up but he is on a good path now. Opposing counsel has been allowed to repeatedly cuss me and call me names and even get violent screaming and yelling and physical in the courthouse and she did nothing but talk to opposing counsel and warn them. This woman does NOT belong anywhere near a bench. I agree that she is completely bias in favor of men. They can practically get away with murder and she won't so much as blink. IT IS DISGUSTING! We want her removed from the bench so start looking for that campaign and jump on board.

When confronted with the law, DOJ, and federal laws, she shrugs them off, ignores them, refuses to read or acknowledge them, and simply hands them back. Whose laws does she follow, certainly not Oklahoma Laws, nor the state or federal constitution, nor federal laws.... what about due process, not sure this court knows, understands, believes in, or cares about due process because it is ignored in this court. I hope I never have to witness the kind of judicial abuse I've witnessed in this court again.

As a 30 year officer of the court, in a different county, I always wondered about the dysfunctional nature of Can. Co. As a fresh victim of Judge Hatfield I can now understand the sentiments previous posters have expressed. If you are male, if you need a fair probate Judge, fight hard to get a change of venue. As she has no work ethic this may work for you. Another Judge, any other Judge would be preferable. You have been warned.

If you are a victim, strike one. If you have no money to prove that, strikes two, three and four. If you are a man, strike five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten. If you have her has a judge, strikes 11-100. Very biased, makes most decisions behind closed doors where parties are not allowed to be in, refuses to look at or listen to evidence, blames domestic violence victims, refuses to listen to facts. Lots of questionable things going on. Bottome line, she decides what she things is best despite OVERWHELMING evidence, even when the DAs office presents evidence contrary. Shameful.

0 would be a better rating. I have been in court with my ex since 2006 because of this judge. She is awful and is there to shovel money into the system. She ordered mediation over and over again when there is nothing to mediate. I have not negotiated anything because it is contempt on my ex for judgment's my ex owes me yet I'm supposed to negotiate a price with him? why? she is insane. she will put an innocent person through court for years if you keep paying a lawyer. I am transferring out of this hell hole of a courtroom and no justice system. I will file to get her off the bench with her outright blatant disregard for the law.

Very Bad Judge, does not appear competent.
Very Bias towards men, for example she enforced alimony on me when I have been married barely 5 years, most of which wasn't even in this state; of which Alimony is over 20% of my income. Given no credit for things like medical, having to pay all the medical bills for kids, despite Oklahoma Law.
She has allowed my ex wife to work part time and gave her custody. Also, she awarded my ex the house we lived in amongst other things, but the house is in foreclosure and in only my name; so I am getting ruined while she has free rent for many years.
She will prolong your case, if you keep paying into the system (an attorney).
She is more of a criminal, then a judge!!!

This Judge Hatfield didn’t consider all of the documented illegal criminal activity that I found out that my ex husband was involved in. I had contracts, licenses, lease agreements, medical marijuana cerfificates, infidelity documentation. All of this was downplayed, I do agree that she is biased towards men, and the court ordered mediation more than once was waste of our time and money. Yes, DHS findings were thrown out the window, and outlandish temporary custody’s orders were forced upon me. Attorneys are afraid of pushing back, and that trickles down to me the client that you could loses everything if I want to push back, so your fears are prayed upon.
She is irresponsible and my child has been a sacrificial lamb.

There should be negative numbers available. Does not follow nor enforce the law. Does not allow due process; just holds meetings in chambers without the parties, sends people to mediation, and never allows presentation of evidence. Ignores the docket and the presedence of motions. I fully disagree with the other comment on prejudice against fathers. In my experience, it is the polar opposite. COMPLETE bias FOR the father, regardless of how many laws, orders, or agreements they break. She will make the parties waste obscene sums of money on attorneys, mediators, GALs, and court costs from her refusals to just do her job. Cases that should be done in a few months will take years and years and years. All around, just the worst judge I could possibly imagine.

Fathers that want equal time and rights BEWARE! Our paternity case was over two years when others with same lawyers different judges were completed in 6-12 months.

She uses "I think" & "I feel" to make her rulings - no law necessary.

She is rude and the most biased judge towards men that I have ever seen. She does not follow the law and plays by her own rules. She supposedly wants speedy resolution to civil cases yet orders families to reappear over and over for years. In our situation, she reopened the case on her own. It has drug on for almost 4 years. In our case, the mother is physically and emotionally abusive and married a 2 time convicted rapist so the mother can't have custody yet she has made the father force the child (14 years old)to visit the mother and the father to foot the bill for it. She is an idiot and should be removed from the bench.
