This JUDGE did not even understand basic court terms as first right of refusal in a child custody case. He sent my child back to a drug addict after the child had been abducted and hidden for several days. Would not even listen to FACTS! worthless! no justice! He should be disbarred along with KIT PETERSON who is a liar and a worthless person that only cares about money! NOT JUSTICE AND NOT INNOCENT CHILDREN! TOTAL SCUM BAG!

The case should have never been in a court room. There was no legal precedent. Every Lawyer I had encouraged me to settle because they said that I would not win with this judge. They only got their way because they threatened me that this Judge may put me in jail. It was a forced settlement. I will be in documentary soon exposing everything that I went through with the Oklahoma Judicial system.

My father passed in 2008 and had a Will leaving me everything. The day after my father passed the Judge issued a restraining order that did not allow me in our home. My father made me a joint tenant. My father and I opened up a Pacific Life Annuity in 2005. I was the Beneficiary. Chase Bank lawyers told my father nobody could touch it since he made his son the beneficiary. I took the money from the sale of my Grandmothers home in CA to Ok to my father and we opened the annuity. The Judge took this fund had it cashed out approximately 10 days or so after my father's death. Pacific Life, Chase Bank and the Judge did not honor me as the Beneficiary. The Judge did this without even looking at the Will or having a trial. The fund was around $150,000 or so. Ultimately my father's ex wife and her lawyers got it. The Ex wife divorced my father in 1999. The ex wife has been fired from a job for theft and her son has been in jail for robbery. But of course the Judge did not want to hear this. I would not be surprised if this Judge was paid off. It is my belief that the lawyers involved and the Judge are corrupt individuals that did not even allow my father to die in peace. He was only 65 and died of liver cancer.

Thank God he drew an opponent. Hopefully, Lucas will soon be off the bench. He fails to comprehend even the most basic of facts, does not understand legal precident, or statutory authority. If he ever had any legal knowledge or skills, they have long since departed.

He's a joke as a judge. Lacks even basic knowledge, and clearly has no inclination to educate himself. His bias is so evident it sickens me.

Working well past his prime,if he ever had one. His temperament is probably better suited to handle divorce cases, probate and juvenile matters. I agree he is a nice guy and follows his gut rather than the law. By doing so he creates unnecessary work for himself and attorneys.

I've read the previous comments, and must agree with the negatyive words authored. I think he is on ok fellow, but hios time has long since passed. He does appear late, sometimes not at all. He does not have any grasp on the issues presentyed via written motion, does not read the cases cited, and simply rules based on his feelings and attitude instead of basing such decisions on law.

It is most unfortunate to have cases before a judge that routinely is either late or fails to appear. On several occasions, I have had matters passed as the judge was out. Motions filed were either not read or not understood. You know the judge is a problem when law enforcement approaches you and apologizes for the judge. Judge Lucas is a fine man, but a very poor judge. He at one time was good, but those days are gone.

Several years ago I defended a breach of contract case filed by a big firm OKC lawyer. My client did breach and the contract had a liquidated damages clause which provided that plaintiff repossessed the property (a Peterbilt) and kept the lease payments. We tried to settle but the big firm lawyer pressed a claim in excess of the liquidated damages. We tried it for 6 hours and Judge Lucas ruled from the bench that the liquidated damages clause applied. The plaintiff admitted that she got the contract off the internet when I asked her who drafted it. I have had a few other cases where a few motions were argued and the cases settled because there were competent lawyers on the other side. I found Judge Lucas to have an good grasp of the law in varied areas and a lot of common sense. The OKC lawyer was shocked when he didn't get attorney fees. (They weren't in his client's internet contract.)

Horrible, horrible judge. Does not read motions, failed to appear for several motion dockets. Needs to retire. May have been good at one time, but that time is long since past.

I have appeared before Tom Lucas perhaps twenty-five times. Twenty of those were likely civil matters. A few, perhaps as many as five were criminal cases. I've practiced law throughout central and southern Oklahoma for many years. Judge Lucas (and some of his fellow judges in Cleveland County) provides a breath of fresh air for one who regularly appears in Oklahoma County, and in rural Oklahoma. The earlier post in opposition to Judge Lucas harkens to those jurisdictions where money and politics spoil judicial elections. Much as Oklahoma County's propensity to elect truly awful judges out of the D.A.'s office on the assurance, in violation of the Judge's Ethics Code, that everyone who is perhaps guilty should be held without bond until they prove their innocence. I expect that poster, though perhaps not a bottom feeder, is simply used to business as usual with folks like Wes Lane, and his ilk, and finds himself, or herself, offended by fair and honest treatment.

I have appeared before Judge Lucas once. I am from Tulsa County. I was very impressed with his temperament and his treatment of both lawyers and litigants. He actually reads the files and is familiar with the pleadings. Wish there were more like him.

Judge Lucas has been nothing but even-handed in my civil and criminal cases before him. He has been able to point out holes in both sides' cases on several occasions and has demonstrated a solid working knowledge of both criminal and civil procedure. He is tough but fair in his overseeing of the drug court program and knows when someone is insincere in their recovery.

Best judge ever to have served this county. Gets low scores from Oklahoma County bottom feeders who want to run his courtroom for him - and their crackhead clients looking for a slap on the wrist and a pizza party.

Although a very nice guy, his knowledge of the law is deplorable. Anything other than run of the mill issues are beyond his ability to understand, as well as his willingness to stay current with legal issues and argument.
