Judge Blalock is a superior judge. She is hard on domestic violence and deadbeat dads (and moms) and puts children before anything else. She is very approachable in chambers and very fair on the bench. I have seen her bend over backwards to try to get parents to do the right thing for their kids because she believes that kids should be with their parents. But I have also seen her say "that's it, that's all the chances you get" even when she wishes it could be different. She will follow both the law and her common sense. Very nice lady to boot.

Judge Blalock has grown into one of the best judges in the state. She came into office through election when she beat a just-appointed incumbent who at that time seemed better suited for office. In the long term, she has proved the voters right in their decision. She has been innovative, such as holding domestic violence court. She considers the arguments of counsel and is not afraid to rule on the law even when it might not be the popular thing to do or even the safe thing. She is an excellent judge with which to waive a jury. You'll get a fair decision (even if it is not the one you want).
