Doesn't care about the safety or wellbeing of the children. Doesn't care if children are being abused, and he is willing to continue postponing proceedings indefinitely, especially against safe, protective moms. Is biased against females. With a history of working for DHS, it is obvious he lacks integrity and has a blatant disregard for the safety of innocent children.

Not at all intelligent. Don't understand how he even got to be a judge. Does not understand the law. Being on the bench has gone to his head.

He is on time. That is where the '5' ratings begin and end. All other ratings are a "1" or lower. In his ruling at our Trial, he acknowledged about 70% of the evidence which was presented all the while he completely ignored the other 30% which was presented. He refused to acknowledge that he missed the other 30%. He's not very smart. Not very good as a "Judge" because he is like a squirrel chasing a shiney object. Needs to learn to focus on 100% of the evidence presented, not just 70% of the evidence presented when making his ruling. He's's been a judge now for a 10+ years. If he hasn't learned his lesson by now, he's probably never going to learn. Good luck to you if your case is assigned to him....thoughts & prayers.

A disgrace to jurisprudence in family court and not any better now. Doesnt care about the litigants or the families his disgusting decisions effect. The best thing he could do for the law is resign.

Prior to assuming the bench had practiced as an attorney for DHS. As a judge in juvenile court, he acts as an extension of DHS and. Appears to care mostly about perpetuating the parental rights termination and DHS adoption machine. Takes offense to lawyers who actually stand up for their clients and their rights and is generally somewhat even tempered except for when any party OR attorney raises the issue of DHS workers lying or violating the law (a very common occurrence) in which case he explodes unprofessionally. Has a common, daily, practice of ex-parte discussions of matters with the state immediately prior to calling the parties and their attorneys into the courtroom where, unbeknownst to them, the matter to be resolved has already been decided. After the parties leave he engages in mockery and sarcasm about them with the state, DHS, and his staff. Absolute epitome of constitutional rights violations. His courtroom is where justice goes to die.

fails to review, read and understand the nature of his cases; depends on others to do his job; lacks understanding of the UCCJEA and lacks the responsibility to do his job in accordance to the rules and regulations placed upon him. Due to his failure to oversea his cases he blatantly has violated the law. He allows cases to drag out and he promotes taking rights away from parents for no reason (or valid reasons). The law doesn't say that you can take a child and put them up for adoption based on allegations that you can't prove, but because he LISTENS to DHS he fails to understand they lie very well. Needs to be off the bench!

Judge Sparkman granted custody of my twins to their father, a convicted Felon (drugs and domestic violence). The Father had more money than I did and Sparkman allowed him to drag me thru court for a few years. There was a hearing set towards the end, even thou I had no idea it was the end, & my ex cancelled it & managed to get it rescheduled without my knowledge resulting in him getting full custody. I wasn't notified or served any papers whatsoever. That was in 2009, And that was the last time I saw my babies! I told the court that my ex would take them and no one believed me! My babies (twins) were almost 8yrs old then. Now, they're about to turn 13 yrs old. Judge Sparkman allowed this to happen. He went against the mediator. He went against everything that was right! Judge Sparkman should have to answer for the injustices he caused! And for the pain he has caused Innocent children bc he hates women!!!! FACT!!

I feel that Judge Sparkman is a decent human being that is exposed to the constant drama that all judges are exposed to in every courtroom. I have one experience in which a dramatic turn of events were ruled in my favor because I believe that he can see thru drama. Unfortuanaltey there is so much drama in the courtrooms these days, been there recently over a landlord that is dragging on a divorce for 10 years for some odd reason, and filed a PO on me for no reason at all, that the court system is turning into a Jerry Springer match. I respect Judge Sparkman and I do believe that he is one of "the few good men" left.

Ex-wife seeking alimony support. Made up his mind at the first hearing how he was going to rule but let the case drag out for over 7 (yes 7) years. Multiple attorneys reviewed and agreed that this should have been and opened and shut case. Hundreds of pages of exhibits were submitted at the cost of hours of attorney fees and yet Sparkman never even reviewed. This was the case of a mother who never contributed one dime towards her two children. The father basically purchased his children in the divorce settlement. Bank statements (battled to obtain) submitted proved she shopped continuously for clothing, jewelry, dinners out etc. had acquired a job making approx. $60,000 while the father spent everything he made towards raising and providing for the children. All the evidence was in black and white if Sparkman had taken the time to review. All this judge saw was a successful businessman and what he determined was a poor housewife. The mother never contributed one dime from the time of divorce in 2002 to this day. If she had been the father she would be considered by law and community to be a dead beat dad but because her husband divorced her, she was awarded over $100,000 in alimony support from a single father making $150,000 salary. The cost of fighting the alimony support was another $75,000. The family court judges are given so much latitude that it is very difficult to overturn any rulings. This judge needs to be thrown from the bench he obviously has lost any interest in the lives he effects with his rulings.

Judge Sparkman is by his non-action harming the children of at least one divorce case by letting it drag on and on.
He says his interest is the children but by his practice in this one case has allowed a divorce case to extend past 12 months with no end in site. The children need counselling because of being manipulated by one parent. One child is getting very aggressive toward a younger sibling. The judge is allowing one side to extend the case over and over by not doing things required and filing motions. The judge needs to man up and set the case for trial. He just set himself up to avoid a pretrial date coming up by requiring the two to go to mediation again. That has failed in the past and will likely fail again. This judge is not managing his court and allowing at least this one lawyer to run all over him. The kids in this case are near pre-teen age and they may be harmed for life because of this judges inaction.
