One of the best if not THE best judge we have in Oklahoma County. Extremely fair with ALL parties involved. Goes out of his way with pro-se litigants to accommodate and educate what the law is in his decision and how it applies to each case specifically. Always a pleasure appearing before Judge Welch.

I was incredibly impressed with how the judge treated an elderly person who didn't comprehend the proceedings yet interrupted them . He treated him with dignity, yet controlled the time and the case.

My husband had this judge for a child custody case several years ago. The mother of the child involved had ties to a judge next to Welch's chambers at the time, Michael Chionopoulos which we felt must have persuaded Welch's handling of the case. Our own attorney was shocked in the outcome of the case especially with the child's mothers ridiculous demands and controlling behavior of my husbands visitation rights. To this day, we still have problems with the mother and she uses her own child as a way to get us to cave to her demands. And because this judge will always be in control of this case, there is nothing we can do for the sake of my step child.

He has a chip on his shoulder. He acts as if he cares only about the guardians and never the parents. I feel sorry for anyone who has their child's life and safety put into this man's hands. He cares nothing about the parents.

My experiences with Judge Welch are not quite as star-stricken. He is never on time, and makes you wait and wait. No wonder he has to work weekends. Otherwise, great judge.
