I logged in to this website to post my own review. However, I can't help but feel the need to respond to the poster's comment from 6/23/20. I am a family law practitioner who has been working with this magistrate for many years. He is always even-handed, and while I do not always necessarily agree with his decisions (such is the life of a practitioner), I have found that he is always fair and takes the necessary time to explain his rationale. I will mercifully leave the poster's name out of this, for her own benefit, and for the child's. The blanket slander of this poster is not justified, and is obviously based on the fact that she was called out in open-court for her wrongdoings. She was clearly embarrassed and obviously thought the Judge was going to rule in her favor, even though the evidence pointed to the contrary. In explanation, I was in the courtroom when the case that this poster is referring to came up. The claims of this poster are completely untrue, and I am appalled that anyone can slander a Judge and person, without any consequences.

First, the case that she is referring to had no evidence of abuse and no evidence that the father is mentally ill. Further, there was no objection to the fact that he was the biological father. The mother had a history of making decisions that were not in the best interests of the minor child, and by the same token, she has done everything in her power to alienate the child against the father. It is true that the father did not attend many of the child's athletic activities. However, it is also true that the father's work schedule prohibited the father from doing so. As always, this magistrate identified the issues and gave both parties the opportunity to do a better job of raising their child. Unfortunately, it was obvious to everyone that this mother thought her way of raising the child was correct, and anyone who disagreed with her is wrong and out to get her. Thankfully this magistrate was able to see through her deception and make a decision that was in the best interests of the minor child. Thankfully this community has a magistrate that will put the child first, unlike the mother. If the mother would put as much time into co-parenting their child as she does practicing deception and slandering those who do their jobs, the parties and the child would not have to seek relief from the District Courts. If she does not agree with the decision, her remedy is to appeal this magistrate. One gets you a hundred that his decision would be upheld on appeal. Shame on you “mom.”

A very fair magistrate with a very good judicial demeanor and a superb grasp of the law. His decisions are clearly reasoned and his patience with attorneys and litigants is unmatched. Many of my colleagues wish he would have sought appointment to the District Judge's position.
