Rating:4.2
Comments:
Judge Scaggs is not called the hanging judge without reason. Even if you have a plea arrangement, he will kick it out and do whatever he wants. Discovery is a joke to him, espcially if you are the defense. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Comments:
Makes very bizzare pretrial rulings. Such as setting case for trial within a month of an answer date. If that conflicts with discovery he orders the defendant to answer it within 10 or so days. Completely unreasonable and is begging for a writ or appeal. He and Judge Walker have the same playbook.

Comments:
Judge Scaggs may be a brilliant jurist but he's a nightmare to practice in front of. He has no regard for your time nor schedule, often setting hearings down without consulting with attorneys and then not allowing them to be continued if you have a conflict with a pre-set trial. In short, he's just unreasonable. Been on the bench too long and needs to retire. Kind of a grumpy Gus type of guy. Smart, knows the law, but has forgotten what it's like to practice law for a living (if he ever did know).
