Judge Tommy is quite a character and an excellent judge. He practiced for over 25 years in ADA before being elected Judge in the mid-1990's. He wants concise, clear writing (if your motion and brief are over 3 pages long you'll only get the first 3 pages read) and he tends to put his finger to his nose when he's heard enough testimony. He can sniff out most lying lawyers and clients so don't try to bluff your way past him. Fair to both local and out-of-town lawyers. Good judge overall. Very polite to lawyers unless you come across as arrogant or pompous.

This judge is the best there is. He is tough when necessary, but has a softer side as well. Don't think you will get anything over on this one though - he is one smart cookie. He is very personable, yet commands his courtroom. I have enjoyed practicing before this judge and have always felt that I have been dealt with fairly.

Hire a hometown attorney and you should be OK.
