This soon to be former judge does not follow the law. I had a clear case for slander of title with a plethora of evidence. I followed Oklahoma statues to the T and this fool ruled against me. Leaving no choice but to file an appeal costing me thousands of dollars. His ruling was revered on appeal. I am so thankful he lost his bid this month for re-election. I wouldn't hire him as an attorney to represent me for a traffic ticket.

He is a terrible judge who does not understand the law and does not pay attention in court. He does not deserve to be a judge and make rulings that affects so many people and lives.

Terrible! He allowed my children to move out of state with their mother. His decision was not not based on all the facts of the case. He did not even read child custody evaluations that indicated my ex wife was not the best parent. As a result my children have been through much emotional turmoil. Judge Barcus has destroyed my children's lives. I have been in court for over 10 years because of this man. He is an entitled Napoleon that should be disbarred!

He let 3 jurors sleep during my trial in his court. In particular, the jury foreman fell asleep, dropped his note pad on the floor. Everyone stopped and looked at that juror as he woke up. The judge did absolutely nothing, said said absolutely nothing. Just imagine if this was your trial and you were simply wanting a fair trial.

It was his first day in Criminal Felony Court and I was completely impressed with his handling of his duties. He was kind, fair, compassionate, yet stern and appeared well-versed in his handling of each case I observed that day.

Judge Barcus is a fair judge -- he works hard and has a firm grasp of the matters before him. Unlike other judges, he is awake during hearings. His courtroom isn't always dark. He doesn't carry a gun or run around waving it (that gets you to the Court of Appeals, apparently), or lock up minorities. He also doesn't chase and harass female employees like a certain ex-judge. All things considered, he's great!

Barcus did not have to rule in my case of who should get custody, because both my ex husband and I understand the importance of working together to raise a child! I would like, however to mention that I was impressed with his consideration in our case! He asked very relevant questions to acquire knowledge of the situation to better understand how we came to the conclusion of how to share our sons time! He seemed to care and be impressed with our capability to work together! Anyone who wants to bash these judges should consider the fact that they have to sit on that stand on a regular basis and watch all the immature people who go through there fighting over ridiculous things and realize that in the end they are the ones who have to send a child home with one of them! So when you've sat in their position then try judging them!!!

In a state where you hear that fathers rights are trampled on and certianly mine were for nine years, I finally got justice and more importantly my children did. Barcus gave my ex almost two years to become compliant and let her slide on a number of no shows to court. That was frustrating, especially living out of state as I do. BUT in the end, her lies and manipulations caught up with her and he gave her the max. Noone can say that the guy doesnt give people chances to get their act together. There are just some that never do.

Barcus is by far the dumbest and laziest judge I have ever encountered, and I have been in front of a lot of them.

I am not a lawyer and I had to actually explain the law to this guy.

He doesn't read motions or briefs, doesn't know law and what little he does know he misuses. This guy clearly abuses his authority.

Barcus is anti father (he openly admitted this to me outside the court) and routinely violates father's "rights" (what little we have).

This guy has no business being a judge and should be fired.

Unfortunately, he is trying to get on the Oklahoma Court of Appeals. God help us if that happens. The Appellate court is incompetent enough without adding more fuel to the fire.

What a tool. NEVER ON TIME !!!! Always 15-45 min late, packs his morning dockets with attorneys and litigants, never deals with cases, just one big continual pass. Does not read pleadings, not up to date on legal issues or rulings, yet beleives he will be a Judge on the Court of Criminal Appeals. What a travesty that would be.

Not one of the better members of the bench. He had bias when he was a domestic judge, and now he is a tool for the DHS.
