I am thrilled to hear that Judge Stephen Tiktin will be retiring and stepping off the bench. I believe he is mother biased and doesn't give dad's a fair shot at being in their children's lives. I am a women that sat in his court room through a nasty child custody hearing. The mother pulled every nasty divorce/child custody trick 101 and he still sided with the mom. It was heartbreaking to sit back and watch a judge act like he didn't care, doze off in the middle of trial and be so uninterested in these little people that were being affected. Maybe now we can get a Judge in there that will actually believe that father's play a healthy role in their children's lives.

This is the worst judge I ever encountered. He seemed arrogant and oblivious to the facts. It was hard to tell whether he was completely prejudiced in his rulings, or just plain incompetent (the former seems most likely). Was not at all compassionate and maybe not too bright. Has facial tic which he uses for purposes of showing displeasure or dislike of individuals. Whenever direct eye contact was made (highly infrequent; he seems to avoid it), a common response was to bulge his own eyes and grind his lower jaw back and forth disconcertingly. Tried to like and respect him, but his decisions were rambling and seemed to disregard the facts as presented.

This judge does not seem to understand that it is his job to provide a court for the litigants to resolve their disputes. His behavior appears to be either lazy or passive-aggressive, or both.

You never know what you will get with this judge. He is moody beyond belief and God help you if you get him on a bad day. He enjoys making female attorneys cry and picking at those he does not like. Looking forward to the day he retires!

Good judge; very smart and does his research; he actually reads the briefs and the cases cited in them. Actually holds the state to its burden of proof. Can be cranky and irritable however.
