The Judge Munford rejected my rights to admit my children in Public School even though I have PhD (with NO misdemeanor or any criminal record) but gave educational rights to a person who has NO College degree. I didn’t even request full custody, I was OK to pay child care support that was demanded by opposite Counsel, and all I requested educational rights for my children to admit them in School as my ex wanted to home school when she hardly knows 6th grade math leave alone 10th grade. After Judge’s ruling, my ex deliberately kept kids away from School untill they are 16, and then admitted them in School when they turned 16. This made my kids behind by 2 years, and the reason she did it so that child care support can be extended by another 2 years. That is, instead of ending at 18 years, it went till they were nearly 20 years. Today my kids became adults, I kept on moving in my life, without thinking negative about Judge, and I have been struggling to teach my adult children basic math/science as they lost appetite for education to enter College. But today when I hear from the post that other parents have also been victimized like me, this breaks my heart. And I agree with TX 1087 that Judge Munford Refused to hear the facts and also agree with TX 1086 who commented `it felt like he made a decision before he ever heard the facts’. What I recommend is the Judge Munford should see my two adult daughters(22), who were denied normal public school, and who were home-schooled by my ex (as she got educational rights in addition to custody), while even with PhD I have been completely denied even educational rights to admit my kids in school. This way, he will understand how he ruined the career of my two daughters, with one of them working in daily wages job, and the other one on welfare. So, what did this Judge Munford do? He made one kid a burden to the Government all because this Judge didn’t care for the value of education (even my PhD is not enough for him to prove my right to educate my children). Not sure how many other kids are suffering due to the ruling of this Judge. We need a system, in which based on Judge’s ruling, if kids suffer then that Judge should be held accountable. We need this change to protect kids for future. This way, whatever happened to my kids, should not happen to other kids.

this judge should not be on the bench. Certainly not in family court! He threatened me with contempt of court, jail time and a fine if I opened my mouth. Refushed to hear the facts. Ruined my grandson's life with his ruling.

Judge Munford treated my case like it was simply case study and it felt like he made a decision before he ever heard the facts. It’s hard enough to stand in a court room as an African American in this country as it is, but to stand there as a man fighting for more time with his son is even more painful. The notion that we are dead beat dads is a message that has been wrongfully permeated throughout society and here I am as an involved, present father that is fiscally responsible but now reduced to a weekend visitation dad.

$30,000 on attorney fees only to have Judge Munford undo what his associate Judge did who actually listened and asked questions and dug past the perfect presentation my sons mom presented and gave me more time on temporary orders, more access only for Munford to undo it all.

I realize I’m not abreast to the laws, I realize things have been put in place for a reason but I also know that with these rulings children who have emotions are impacted, fathers who are fighting just to be more present and have more access are impacted and seemingly Judges like Judge Munford only see them as case law. My life has changed and I’ve lost even more faith in this system thanks to Munford and I’m appalled that lives can be altered by his rulings and he walks away with no remorse or leaving very little recourse for fathers like me.

Judge Munford is one of the most knowledgeable, considerate, practical, hard working family law Judges in Tarrant County. He will come in early and stay late, if that's what the litigation needs. Judge Munford knows the law, and applies the law. He is courteous. He is honest. He is realistic. It is an honor to practice in his court.

For some reason, he was the target of a mis-directed campaign against him when he ran for the bench last year - some people are lucky. The people who have posted here also have issues with a ruling that obviously went against them.

Family law brings people into court to settle differences. Our judges are not responsible for the messes people create in their own lives. The Court is tasked with sorting through the mess, applying the law, and making a ruling. You are going to get reality and practicality in this Court. And you definitely get the best interest of the child.

The question is - what are your expectations? Are you listening to your lawyer when they tell you what the law is? Just because you think something should go one way - do you have the law and facts to support it? That's YOUR job to get the facts your lawyer needs to present your case to the impartial Judge.

I don't like to see people trash an excellent jurist when they don't understand what is going on or they just feel hateful. It's shameful.

Judge Munford is an arrogant and biased judge. I see the earlier comments saying he's all about the women, but in my case, I found him completely sexist AGAINST women. He said things on the bench I was appalled a judge would say - said that maybe I should move back in with my parents to save money and that maybe I shouldn't pursue my particular career in the arts. He ruled entirely in my husband's favor while half-admitting he knew he was hiding money. Appalling.

how is this judge still sitting on the bench? He is a horrible person and I hope he rots in hell for what he is doing to families. I asked to speak and he told me "if you open your mouth I will hold you in contempt of court give you a $500 fine and 6 months in jail. Do you understand?" I figured this was a trick question to get me to open my mouth so I did not respond. How is this fair? By the way I am a woman so no bias here! The only thing we acomplished was a drug test for the father and that was just because he admitted to doing drugs.

I agree (100%) with TX772 and TX 771 that this Judge is totally biased against fathers. He also has some favorite lawyers (that is what my own lawyer told me, before I hired him, and his chance for winning me is ruled out in front of this Judge). I have experienced in which he didn't even listen to me, while he listened to my ex-wife for over 30 minutes. Munford is that BIASED. Munford should NOT be serving as Judge.

My 9 year old is highly allergic to dogs and my ex husband KNOWING THIS got a husky, one of the worst dogs to have as far as shedding goes. When we was in court with judge munford, the judge yelled at me for not having my daughter on allergy shots but my ex didn't get anything said to him for knowingly putting my daughter in this position making her miserable. Judge munford is very rude and I considerate and SHOULD NOT be a judge in the 322nd court of Tarrant county because he DOES NOT care about the best interest of the kids at all.

I have never seen a judge as rude as this one. He appears inconvenienced by his job.

If you are looking for a pro-female judge, you've landed on the right spot. I observed this judge tell a male litigant it was his fault that he had been repeatedly abused by his wife. Not sure a judge would keep his bench if this comment had been made to an injured female victim of domestic abuse.

If you appear in his court, make sure your attorney is friends with him, or you won't stand a chance.

The 322 court order me the mother and sole surviving parent to deliver my then10 and 13daughters(13 and 16) to the uninvolved uncle 68 (now 72)saying my kids are betteroff without parents It's all about who gives the judge the most money Everyone should ban together and get theses judges removed. Has anyone started a petition to the Govenor, State Bar or Austin ? We as group need to get started

My ex-spouse took me to court 1 month after I moved to a different county, although it stated in my custody orders that I was allowed to do this. My ex-pouse was abusive and abused alcohol. I had multiple video tapes of him drinking and driving. I had a video of him drinking for 3 hours and then driving with 2 children in the back of his pick-up truck. Judge Munford gave primary custody of my 12 year old son and accused me of "alienating" my children from their father. I didn't want my 17 year old daughter to testify because I was aware of the fact that it would destroy her relationship with her father and any chance of reconciliation... so I trusted the family court to make an educated decision as to who parented with the best interest of the child in mind. My ex-spouse is on his 4th marriage, claimed bankruptcy multiple times, owes a federal tax lien in the amount of $380,000 (he bought his ex-wives very expensive cars and vacations) He continues to abuse alcohol and his sick need to control and abuse. Judge Munford destroyed my family and my childrens' futures. He believed my ex-spouse's lies and fell for his circus show.

This judge should be removed from the bench. I will never vote for him again. He removed my grandchildren from a happy, secure, loving home and returned them to the worst of situations. Its just a matter of time before they are seriously injured, I want to know if he can be held responsible for this. Their mother has been investigated 3 times by CPS within 12 months and currently has a felony charge of child endangerment. Her live in boyfriend has 2 dwi's and a charge for carrying a illegal weapon.

Maybe all the "biased toward female" comments messed with his sense of justice, for I am a mother who lost primary custody of her children. I was not served the proper papers, and the court-appointed lawyer told me she could not represent me as she was assigned only for the contempt-of-court case that had brought us there. Also, my children were denied an ad litem attorney because Munford said it was insulting to him, like he wasn't smart enough to pass judgment. I felt like I'd been raped by him, my ex, and my ex's lawyer.

Please, everyone who experiences Judge Munford and his biases against men and disrespect for law and any due process.

Actually stated before hearing that he would not make any changes to the current order, but he did, his temporary orders were made without the party even asking or filing for. Just to plunger the father.
Please file a complaint with the Texas Commission of Judicial Conduct. This judge must be brought to justice before she hurts more families.

This man has no self control. He exudes arrogance which is in effect ignorance camouflaged as ego. I am a single mother who was intent upon making my children the best they could possibly be. After my ex-husband had moved on to his third marriage and moved to Florida, he then wanted full custody of my sons. After being unemployed for a year and being behind in child support to the tune of 7,000+$ Judge Munford gave him full custody of my sons. How is that just?

This is a kangaroo court. I was not allowed to talk and my right to due process was violated. In my case, Being the mother, I lost custody and my rights were stomped on without regard to the best interest of the child or my fundamental right to due process as a parent. When will Judges look at families as a whole and the importance of regular, meaningful contact with both parents? The laws are slanted and unjustly limit one parent's ability to be present in a child/chlidren's life.
The honor and responsibility of being a parent does not stop becuae of a divorce, and should not be taken away from one parent, usually the father. At least in 322nd court.

Like many courts in Texas this is Munford is gender bias to the female without any regard for the father. He states that he raised a daughter, not sure if he was divored or not, but I wich he would just imagin not seeing his baby girls face everyday, or to be limited to 33% of the time. Father's do ot even have a chance in his courtroom. No fair shake for men.
