Why is she still on the bench. I work for a law firm and this judge and her staff are lazy and ill equipped to serve the people. Always sit on orders and has anyone ever had an actual hearing in front of this judge?

A bad judge, with a bad court coordinator, through and through. Makes entirely arbitrary decisions, changes dates/times at the 11th hour, and does not give anyone sufficient notice of said changes. Very biased decisions and completely inconsistent with previous rulings. Definitely the worst Judge in Dallas County. Someone please primary her out.

Inept at calendar keeping. Told jurors they would be in court on Tues, off on Wed, no court on Th/F, then due back in court the following Mon. After court on Tues, she told the jury to return on Wed. Even though some jurors had told their employers they would be at work on Wed. She told the jurors "tough". ZERO consideration towards the jurors even though it was HER error. Unacceptable treatment. No wonder people hate jury duty.

Her rulings are capricious and unpredictable, she doesn't prepare for hearings, she doesn't listen to counsel at oral argument, she ignores motions and filings, and is in a feud with the 5th Court of appeals. Literally, the worst judge I have ever seen.

D'Metria Benson has been christened the worst judge in Dallas County for good reason.

D'Metria Benson is always biased towards attorneys whom she perceives as 'friends.' Typically those are firm and attorneys who have contributed to her campaign. Some attorneys have developed a cottage industry of cases before D'Metria because they are perceived favorably by her.

She does not understand the law and I don't think she quite grasps the facts. D'METRIA'S MENTAL CAPACITY IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Her work ethic is weak. And like all dim and lazy people she compensates in ways that are not consistent with the law. THIS WOMAN HAS NO BUSINESS BEING A JUDGE.

Judge Benson is the posterchild for nonpartisan elections (and competency tests for judicial officials). Her presence on the bench of Dallas County Court at Law No. 1 is the reason our firm _never_ files matters in county court anymore. We believe it is a tremendous disservice to our clients to risk a 20% chance of ending up before this moron. We have experienced her bias -- issues such as refusing to sign a default judgment because the defendant was a friend; shouting down attorneys in court; the list goes on and on. Never again!
