Extremely fair and honest judge that really takes each case and looks at the person as an individual, instead of just grouping the crime together. He believes in reform and second chances, but isn't afraid to do his duty as a judge. This is a judge that will save ur life instead of ruin it.

I filed for a protective order against my estranged husband who also happens to be a cop. The temporary protective order for my children and I was signed by Michael Mayes with a hearing date set on the matter. I arrived at the hearing and was seated by myself in the courtroom. A bailiff was also in the courtroom. No one else was in the courtroom. A man whom I did not know came and sat beside me and proceeded to threaten me with harm. He stated that the judge was not there and was instead at a Christmas party. He also told me that I had better agree to drop the hearing for the protective order and mediate instead or the judge would be very "pissed off" and would take my children from me. This man is Atty William Harrison and he is listed as the mediator for the emergency "band aid" orders I was forced to sign by this atty. The transcript indicates that Dishonorable judge Michael Mayes was on the phone with my legal aid atty and the estranged husbands atty Terri Mendez. After WILLIAM Harrison forced me into agreeing to drop the hearing for the protective order I was taken by him into the judges office where the estranged husband and his atty Terri Mendez were seated. The husband was dressed in full SWAT gear including guns and knives visible as he was the team leader for the Harris County SWAT team at that time. I was extremely frightened by him being allowed into the courthouse with weapons on his person. He had a protective order in place against him at that time. I was forced under extreme duress to sign the temporary band aid order and then was taken back into the courtroom to stand before a telephone insisting on the judges bench. A man claiming to be the dishonorable Michael Mayes was talking on the speaker phone. I have no idea who was on the phone. I was then forced to say I agreed to drop the protective order under extreme duress and threat of harm. This was the beginning of 3.5 years of absolute hell going through kangaroo court with a jury trial with this monster and the subsequent failed appeal. I had documents from two states regarding the abuse my estranged husband inflicted upon my children. My children made an outcry to the state of Utah who actually did their job and contacted the state of Texas to investigate the cop husband. The state of Texas is worthless at protecting children from harm. I did not live in Utah at this Tim's. My childrens father did and my boys were on summer vacation with their dad when this occurred. I no longer trust any government agency to actually do the job we pay them to do. I no longer place trust in most people
