Barnstone didnt pay ANY attention to either attorney's during my civil hearing; he was eating oatmeal and toast through most of the hearing while looking through papers with total disregard. Made few but snarky comments. He then tried to rush attys to finish and dismissed the case with no explation and hurried out of the courtroom. Crazy. Incompetent

Is not a nice person. He needs to find peace with himself and show kindness to others. If you want respect you have to show respect. He is supposed to help others and does the complete opposite.

Judge Barnstone is a new first-time judge who took the bench in January 2017. He was swept in by the democratic landslide in the November 2016 local judicial elections. The democratic party should be ashamed they put forth this man as a candidate for judge. I thought crazed federal judge Lynn Hughes was the worst judge in the Harris County area until I sat through one of Judge Barnstone's dockets. Hughes is fair and even-keel compared to Barnstone. Where to begin. Simply, he has no idea what he is doing. He ruled in favor of every defendant who appeared on his bench-trial eviction docket despite the law and the evidence. He improperly advised litigants to take a deal that they had rejected in private settlement discussions earlier in the morning rather than rule for the landlord. He let bench-trials that should have taken 5-10 minutes go for 30-45 minutes. He constantly has to defer to his court staff since he has no idea what to do in the simplest of circumstances. I am willing to give first-time judges a chance - especially democrats since I identify and usually vote democrat - but I doubt if Judge Barnstone will ever be able to figure out how to be a judge after what I have seen. God help you if you must appear before him.
