Judge mortensen failed to protect the defendant in the lawsuit. Everything the prosecutor said was hearsay with absolutely no evidence or proof whatsoever against the defendant. He barely even glanced at the case, just listened to the plaintiffs lawyer say he wasn't even sure if the defendant was involved or not, then rewarded in favor of the plaintif. The defendant had no knowledge of the events that lead him to being in the courtroom in the first place, he was only involved because he was at the end of a web of people. How are we supposed to be protected from the criminals who make a claim with no proof and the "honorable" judge favors with the plaintif just because he has a fancy lawyer? I think mortensen should be held accountable for his actions, or lack of. Don't you need proof or even the slightest evidence to make people pay a very large sum in a lawsuit? Apparently moretensen just want to bang his javel and not really care what he is doing to the innocent involved.

I hate to say this, but comments UT93 thru UT97 LOOK LIKE they was entered by the same person within day(s) of each other. I'm not saying I particularly like this Honerable Judges decision(s) but it appears someone is "stacking the deck" against him.

Judge Mortensen had the chance to shed light on the despicable industry of imprisoning teens. These kids are being tortured and brainwashed daily in facilities that are advertised as schools for troubled teens. Utah is the Mecca of this perverse business. Mortensen hid the truth while ignoring overwhelming evidence. Sick and evil!!!

It is an outrage that this judge has not taken hard evidence into consideration. His refusal to serve justice where it belongs makes it obvious that we are dealing with a corrupt system.

This judge should be impeached for not even abiding by laws that even a basic law student should know. He refused to even look at facts in a case involving an abusive teen program.

Possibly corrupted by big business of the troubled teen industry. Findings are very suspicious. 2 Pennsylvania Judges were recently sent to prison for "Kids for Cash" scandal after an investigation by the FBI. (28 years and 17 years)this type of corruption does happen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kids_for_cash_scandal

This judge failed to look at the facts and documents in evidence in a sealed case involving a torturous, abusive, deceptive, and federal court ruled cruel and inhumane treatment facility for children in Utah and found in favor of the program and against the victims of the program who suffered emotional, physical, psychological, and financial harm as a result of the program's fraud and abuse. This judge should be impeached and removed from the bench!
