Judge Sperline needs to retire. He has become jaded over the years, and this is clouding his judgement. He has made decisions in the past year that will likely have detrimental consequences, but he doesn't seem to care. He has become short tempered in the courtroom which is disconcerning.

Judge Sperline is a very competent judge placed in a crooked county. He covers up his colleagues' mistakes to a level of insanity. When you look deep into the issues at hand, you may see that Judge Sperline is less than just. I find it interesting that when I was in front of Commissioner Chlarson, she called Judge Sperline's orders "ridiculous". Later when I stood in front of Judge Sperline on the same matter, he called his own orders "ridiculous". HUH!...Aren't Judges supposed to look at revisions without prejudice and not as a good-ole-boys-club to back up the Commissioner? Their choice of words were exactly the same! The saddest thing I ever saw in Sperline's courtroom was the fact that he did not enforce his own order, thereby giving a green light to the opposing party to continue their sick lifelong damaging behavior and letting one of Grant County's favorite attorneys (Barbara Black) continue to throw her weight around in the courtroom...again!

Grant County is most fortunate to have Evan. I know some don't like him but he is smart; has a nice sense of humor and it is a real joy to try a case in his courtroom. Damn good judge

I've been practicing and trying cases for 39 years. Judge Sperlin, before whom I've tried two cases, is one of the twelve best judges I've been privileged to appear before. Bright, light handed, very, very knowledgeable. An outstanding jurist.
