Comments:
I found Judge Knodell to be very fair and even in his handling of my case before him. The area of law I practice in is fairly nuanced, and Judge Knodell immediately acknowledged that he was not very familiar with the area of law (a very rare thing for a Judge to do). He listened well to both sides, took everything in to consideration, and provided what I would describe as a fair ruling. I was initially concerned that my being an "out of county" lawyer would result in me and my client being "home-towned" by the Judge's familiarity with the opposing local counsel. However, I was pleasantly surprised that Judge Knodell seemed to not let that sway his judgment, and instead ruled on the facts and law before him. If I had to say one thing I found the Judge to be lacking in, it would be that he should tighten up the Order(s) that he gives as he made multiple oral rulings without requiring them to be in the written Order; not a huge issue, but it did result in me having to acquire a copy of the Court transcript for purposes of "reminding" the opposing counsel that they lost on a few issues. Other than that, great Judge.
