Comments:
This is the most unqualified Judge i have ever dealt with in my 58 years on this sorry planet and I say that because this so call overseer gave me a totally different look at the upholders of the law. what i don't understand is why did they allow this unqualified individual in office when the Bar didn't want her there in the first place.
she screamed being discriminated against but turn around and does the same thing but so much worse on so many different levels. what a waste of the public tax dollars. please remove her before she really screw others life up

Litigant

Comment #: WA1666
Rating:1.0
Comments:
The broadly written divorce laws in WA state enabled Judge Berns, an inexperienced judge with limited family court knowledge, to rule with a discriminatory double standard. She afforded full credibility to the party with contentious motives and left the disadvantaged party with a disproportionate amount of the financial, personal and general divorce burden. It appears she has a strong feminist attitude and her personal biases tainted what she heard, raising questions about her ability to understand the unique context and circumstantial details of a long term marriage. The end result was a messy ruling with erroneous presumptions, contradictions, misunderstandings and incorrectly-stated facts.

Criminal Defense Lawyer

Comments:
Fraud is a strong term, but I'd agree that she was not elected based upon a good record or educational history. Fair to poor judge in a County where I respect the judiciary.

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: WA1386
Rating:7.7
Comments:
In my first divorce case in over 25 years Judge Berns did a superb job in a very complex 16 day trial involving many millions of dollars. She was very deadpan through the course of the trial but was obviously paying very close attention.
