What others have said about Hon. Gary L. Johnson

Civil Litigation - Private

Comment #: WV168
He has served our circuit with integrity for 24 years; he is highly intelligent and shows that he justly deserved to be Editor of the Law Review and Order of the Coif in law school. We are blessed to have such a fair minded, well-reasoned, well-educated judge who is truly concerned about all who appear before him, in particular children in abuse and neglect cases, for which he has been honored nationally.

Judge Johnson is one of the best circuit court judges in West Virginia. His knowledge of the law is impressive and his common sense approach to cases enables him to cut out extraneous matters to reach the heart of a case. Judge Johnson is a fair and impartial jurist. Judge Johnson also has been a strong advocate for children and their safety, having dealt with many child abuse and neglect cases while serving on the bench. His efforts in this regard have been recognized with awards and he has been named an "Angel in Adoption" by the US Congress.

Impartial. Intelligent. Obedient to law as it exists and not as he would like it. Focused on protection of children. Expects attorneys to be prepared which angers some attorneys who are not prepared.

I believe quite likely the worst Judge on a WV Bench.
